Looking for a Photographer

Untitled

We’re looking for a photographer with a natural eye for creating stylish interior shots to mastermind an innovative Christmas campaign for CultureLabel.com.

We’ve already been named one of Design Week’s Hot Top 50 creative influencers, and now need a visionary photographer/stylist that can push the brand further through clever ideas for the homepage starring our hand-curated products and art.

CultureLabel.com is a dynamic and fast-growing dot com in the arts sector which has generated sales of hundreds of thousands of pounds for our arts partners. We sell products and art from over 400 of the world’s leading museum, galleries, arts organisations and the wider creative and design community. Our founding partners include Tate, V&A, British Museum, Royal Academy, Saatchi Gallery and a selection ofUntitled7 300x230 Looking for a Photographer independent boutiques. We’ve also recently launched an Art Store in partnership with 60 galleries and Arts Council England and Creative Scotland.

As cultural entrepreneurs, our goal is to create a site that combines affordable style with making a positive difference to the arts organisations you buy from. On average, 90% of our sales go straight back to the organisations and individuals that sell through us.

We’re looking for someone who wants to build their photography portfolio using our unique combination of unusual arts settings, stylish products and quality art from leading galleries. Your work will have the highest visibility on CultureLabel.com, and we’ll provide a small fee to reimburse you for your time.

You can fit this around any existing job commitments or projects – we’re very flexible on timings, although you will need to stick to our ongoing deadlines for onsite content.

If it sounds of interest, please send us your photography portfolio which must include some examples of your contemporary interior styling (think lifestyle magazine with an arts focus).

To apply, please email your portfolio to photographer@culturelabel.com by Wed 17 August

Untitled

To coincide with the 400th anniversary of the King James translation of the Bible, Southwark Cathedral is inviting artists to translate themes from the biblical stories of Abraham, Hagar and Sarah into contemporary culture. Lancelot Andrewes, leader of the company of scholars that translated Genesis among other books of the Bible, is buried in Southwark Cathedral.  The Lancelot Andrewes Awards challenge today’s artists and photographers to take up his mantle by translating stories from Genesis into today’s visual media.

The colourful stories of Abraham, Sarah and Hagar can be found in Genesis chapters 11-25. These are challenging narratives containing the lows and highs of human experience with tales of dislocation and wandering, of the destruction of cities and founding of new nations, of human jealousy and deceit, of old age and new life, of divine promise, humanUntitled2 300x225 Lancelot Andrewes Awards ART/PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION hope, perseverance, faith and fulfilment.  Hagar in Hebrew means “the (resident) alien”, so these stories also provoke us to wonder about our treatment of the “resident aliens” in our midst.  Entrants are asked to take from these stories a theme, passage or moment that speaks to them about some aspect of 21st century life and experience and to translate this to a contemporary audience.
