Message to Creative and Media level 1 – Presentation Unit
You might be aware that the new version of WordPress 3.2 is out and advertised on your dashboards. Do not use on your online blog now wait until is proofed and sound.
Important note for Creative and Media students with their WordPress site
You will definitely come across an issue with your website when updating some plugins;
Briefly unavailable for scheduled maintenance. Check back in a minute.
Do not panic, just access your web site folders using FTP, and delete the .maintenance file

This post is for the creative and Media Foundation Students:
The role of the Graphic Designer:
Ensures that a logo is present on the website all the way trough
Ensures that the publicity for the website is ready (both online and print)
Designs both Flyers and banners, AND DON’T FORGET SKETCHES
I REPEAT THE MAIN LOGO SHOULD PRESENT ON THE MAIN SITE AND THE INDIVIDUAL SITES.
The role of the Project Manager:
- Keeps the team toghether and don’t say no to hard work
- Ensures that all roles are well understood by all team members
- Keeps to deadlines (and yours is on the 23rd of this month)
- Responsible for ordering the domain names and webspace
The project Assistant
- Supports the Project Manager in all his duties, and put it all together; documentation, meeting minutes etc…
The risk Assessor
- INFORMS THE REST OF THE TEAM OF ALL RISKS WITH THE WEBSITE
- Making sure the site complies to copyrights (meaning no copy and paste and I MEAN IT!!!!!)
- Looks at deficiencies in the site (images, users)
- Weight the risks of having a website online (data protection and how to avoid lost of data. That should not be a problem – remember IT CLASSES)
I WANT TO SEE EVIDENCE OF TEAM MEETINGS AND MINUTES.
I AM EXPECTING E-MAILS BY FRIDAY FROM YOU ALL.
DO NOT COME BACK TO ME NEXT WEEK WITH NO EVIDENCE OF PLANNING AND RESEARCH!!!!!
ONE OF YOU NEEDS TO TAKE THE RESPONSIBILITY TO UPLOAD THE VIDEOS ON THE MAIN SITE BLOG.

Photo Editing for Level 1 Creative and Media and Media
For Level 1 Music & Media
Subject: Artwork Imaging - Theme: Editing Photographs
Material required for experimental purpose: DSLR, SLR, Mobil phone (usually student’s own), and other types of camera, mounting boards.
Students will learn basic photo editing techniques. Students will analyze and evaluate the results.
Lesson Objectives;
- Exploring the different type of cameras
- Understanding and Researching Digital Photography
- Editing images (Photography), using appropriate tools
- Present work
- Reflect and think of how the above learning is going to be use in summative assignment
Starter Session: Have you ever used a SLR camera? What is a SLR? Do you know the difference?
Main Session (part 1): Exploring the different type of cameras
In small group research the following – make a presentation to the class using PowerPoint:
- large format camera
- rangefinders camera
- twin-lens reflex camera
- single-lens reflex
- thermographic camera
- bridge cameras
- point-and-shoot camera
- Compact Lens-Shutter Cameras
- DSLR
Be creative with your presentation, and have a lot of information; historical, brands, special use, who use this type of camera. See me for directions with your research and presentation. You don’t have to use PowerPoint, other type of presentation methods you have been taught by me.
Main Session (part 2): Experimenting with the camera
In small groups experiment with cameras:
Take a portrait of each other using the cameras you have.
SLR, DSLR, Mobile etc
Discuss the advantages, disadvantages is such cameras, as well as the issues you have printing your work or viewing your work. See me for directions
