Subject: Artwork Imaging – Theme: Business Cards

Material required for experimental purpose: Sample business cards, Internet, Photoshop, Printer, Paper/Pen

Students will learn basic photo editing techniques.   Students will analyze and evaluate the results.

Lesson Objectives;

  1. Exploring the different type of business cards
  2. Understanding and Researching Business representation
  3. Digital Imaging;- importing/exporting, using appropriate tools
  4. Present work
  5. Reflect and think of how the above learning is going to be use in summative assignment

This video helps students understand how to use text tool, and import into an image in Photoshop. Usually used with the level 1, but level 2 are also shown this video, for catch-up and reminder

Lesson Aims:

This is the ability to use a software application  to create, modify and layout artwork or images for display in print or on a screen (eg vector graphics for design and drawing; raster graphics for photo manipulation or illustration).

Students will be working with Illustrator and learn:

  • Illustrator Basic tools (palettes, effects, and layers)
  • The difference between Vector and Bitmap graphics
  • And will be producing artwork

This lesson is 4 hours long, students are required to work in group and given about an hour for software exploration.

photomonth is an international photography festival focused on East London. Founded in 2001 and taking place in October & November each year the festival aims to demonstrate the diversity of contemporary photography and reach the widest possible audience.

photomonth owes a great deal of its success to the open call for exhibitions giving the opportunity for emerging artists to be appreciated in a variety of interesting and unusual spaces alongside leading internationally renowned photographers.

Funding rounds for 2011/2012

The Pilot strand offers grants of up to £5,000 to organisations to make a short film of less than five minutes long with young people aged 5-18. The Studio strand offers grants of up to £30,000 to organisations with experience and access to facilities to produce between two and four short films with young people aged 5-18. Deadline: 14 June 2011.
